  • Design/Construction of Duar Divisional Headquarters, AFRICAP

    Arkel was contracted to support the construction of a Division Headquarters, a 1000 man compound, for the Sudanese Peoples Liberation Army (SPLA) in south Sudan, under the Africa Peacekeeping Program (AFRICAP). Specific project scope was for the installation of site infrastructure and completed civil and ground works located on a Greenfield in the remote town of Duar, Sudan. Arkel designed the infrastructure and all utilities, procured all mechanical and electrical systems, and installed them.

  • AFRICAP, Establishing SPLA Medical Services

    Arkel was responsible for constructing medical trainee housing and our employer’s camp. We provided operations & maintenance of the camp and four warehouses assessment of 15 existing medical facilities for the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) under the Africa Peacekeeping Program (AFRICAP).

  • Camp Construction, Maintenance and First Responder Networks

    The Joint Area Support Group granted Arkel a large tract of land within Saddam Hussein’s former “Believer’s Palace” compound in the heart of Baghdad’s “Green Zone” for Arkel’s use to provide accommodations and subsequent camps for various multinationals doing prime-contract work in-country. Arkel performed a wide variety of services on all camps ranging from design/construction to ongoing life support and Operations and Maintenance. Housing and office facilities within the camps were from fairly simple living quarters to spacious “VIP” accommodations with verandas and outdoor space.

  • Offloading of Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG)

    Location: Majnoon Oil Field, Basra, Iraq

    Offloading of Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG)

    Arkel’s responsibilities were to inspect the Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) offloading location and ensure soil is suitable to carry loads of stacked pipe racks, prepare a stacking plan with stacks not exceeding 1.8 mtr., construct and install pipe rack sleepers, liaise with Company and third party who will deliver the Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) such that resources are on site, offload and stack the tubular at various well pad locations in the Majnoon field. Arkel also provided an office on site of the offloading area.

  • Sudan Food Services

    Location: Sudan, Africa

    Sudan Food Services

    The contract was to supply food for 850 trainee prison officers for a 12 week period; this is a long term contract for 12 months. Initially, the contract was for 650 trainees, but within a few days the numbers had gone up to 800 then a few days later was again increased to 850. These items had to be delivered on a daily basis as no storage or refrigeration was available at the tented training grounds where they lived for 12 weeks.
