  • Baghdad Embassy Infrastructure Upgrade Project (BESF)

    The project consisted of both remedial and expansion construction work. Electrical work included connecting the Baghdad Embassy (BESF) camp to the existing New Embassy Compound (NEC) Medium Voltage Power Plant and then balancing the camps load distribution on two of the New Embassy Compound (NEC) MV feeders. This included removing one of two camp existing generators in each of the five zones and replacing them with a pad mounted transformer which connected to the site electrical distribution system.

    Location: Majnoon Oil Field, Basra, Iraq

    Construction of Training Facilities

    Arkel’s responsibilities included the construction of a Training Facility on the Majnoon Oil Field near Basra, Iraq. The Training Facility included classrooms, a workshop, offices, shot blasting area, forklift and crane training area, dining hall, fire training area, and security buildings. Arkel was also responsible for the installation of all utilities including power, water, sewer, fuel and IT/Comms. The facility included fencing and t-walls for perimeter security.

  • Zaitoon Camp Expansion


    Location: Majnoon Oil Field, Basra, Iraq

    Zaitoon Camp Expansion

    Arkel was responsible for the design and construction of an expansion to the Zaitoon Camp on the Majnoon Oil Field near Basra, Iraq. The work included adding 30 living units, expansion of the kitchen facilities, addition of a clinic, recreational room and offices. Arkel also upgraded the existing power generation, power distribution, water storage, and sewer distribution.
